Chicago Hotels

& living in Chicago of visiting, either way is an experience

Chicago hotels and houses are all good quality and are all very affordable. If you are planning to come to Chicago to live or just to visit, there are many great and affordable hotels, houses, apartments, and condos available.

Chicago continues to offer a great quality of living at a very affordable price, in my opinion, for all of you that are planning on living in the Windy City.Chicago’s 5 counties include:

  • Cook
  • Dupage
  • Kane
  • Lake
  • McHenry

Living in the Chicago Area

Homes are on the market longer and buyers have many more homes to choose from. To take a look at houses that are for sale, Click here.

Don’t worry…the market remains strong, but home sales have cooled down quite a bit. There are 60,000+ homes for sale in the Chicago area routinely and on average it takes 70-80 days to sell a home in Chicago, which is actually quite fast.

I have been living in the Chicago area my entire life in Kane county and it’s been great. Chicago is growing with so many more homes being built and sold, it’s going to be interesting to see how big Chicago is in the next 10-20 years.

If you are looking for a home in the Chicago area, I would like to say welcome and of course…welcome if your just visiting as well.

Visiting Chicago

Just visiting? that’s great to hear. There are many comfortable and affordable Chicago hotels all over the city and the area surrounding the city. The top three 5 star hotels in Chicago in my opinion are:

  • The Trump International & Tower Chicago
  • The Ritz-Carlton Chicago
  • The Peninsula Chicago

These are the best (of course) if you want to spend a lot per night (were talking $250-$350+ per night).

They are very comfortable and are the best… but that’s what you expect if you are going to pay that much every night. For most people, I think a little (or much) cheaper is much better if you’re just visiting.

My Top 3 & 4 Star Hotels

You can go and find one of these Chicago hotels anywhere in the area, and to get to the best site, Expedia.com. But my top three 4 and 3 star hotels would be:4 stars:

  • The James Chicago ($139 per night)
  • Sutton Place by the Magnificent Mile ($89 per night)
  • The Blackstone Renaissance Chicago ($169 per night)

3 stars:

  • Country Inn & Suites Schaumburg ($89 per night)
  • Marriott Chicago O’Hare ($99 per night)
  • Holiday Inn & Suites Chicago ($97 per night)

Top 3 & 2 Star hotels

Of course, if you’re not planning on being in the hotel at all while you’re here. Here are the places that, I think, are the best hotels that earn less than three stars:

  • Days Inn Chicago (2 stars)($77 per night)
  • Super 8 Chicago (2 stars)($72 per night)
  • Seneca & Suites (2 1/2 stars)($69 per night)

Even though they’re all about 2 stars, they’re still very comfortable and make a great place to stay for a couple nights.

You can find even cheaper places but the ones I have above are the best when it comes to 2 star places in the Chicago area.

You will be satisfied at any of the Chicago hotels you choose in the area… of course there is much more to do in Chicago then just staying at a hotel.

There are enough activities and things to see to keep you busy for many days and if your coming to live in Chicago you will enjoy the beautiful neighborhoods all around the Chicago area.

There are 26 ethnic groups in the Chicago area with 25,000+ members each and 132 languages with the main language being English.
